Bohdan Stepanych Cherkes, born on May 21, 1953, in the village of Velykyi Polukhiv, Lviv region, is a prominent Ukrainian scientist. He is a Doctor of Architecture and a professor, currently serving as the director of the Institute of Architecture at Lviv Polytechnic National University and head of the Design and Fundamentals of Architecture Department. Cherkes is an academician of the National Academy of Architecture of Ukraine and the Saxon Academy of Arts, as well as a professor at Vienna and Darmstadt Technical Universities.
