Dayasena Pasqual was a prominent Ceylonese politician who served in Parliament for 21 years, representing the Matugama electorate from 1956 to 1977. Born in Uragoda in 1912, he founded Ananda Sastralaya in Matugama and began his political career in local governance. As a member of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party, he achieved notable electoral victories, including serving as Deputy Minister in various ministries. Pasqual was honored with the Neela Udara Award in 2010 and passed away at the age of 100 in May 2013.
