Giorgos Leonardos is a Greek-Egyptian author born on February 20, 1937, in Alexandria, Egypt. He is known for his historical novels. The son of Anastasios and Maria, Leonardos lived with his mother in Alexandria after his father's death when he was just two years old. He was an avid reader of fiction and history and began publishing short stories as a high school student in Alexandria. In 1954, he moved to Greece to study physics at Aristotle University in Thessaloniki.
