Thomas Graham Howarth (15 February 1916 – 8 April 2015) was an English entomologist associated with the National History Museum. During World War II, he endured three years as a Japanese prisoner of war, where he collected insect specimens and discovered a new species. Notably, he volunteered as a firefighter during the London Blitz, earning a British Empire Medal for bravery. His collection, containing around 1500 specimens, is maintained at the Natural History Museum and is known as The Graham Howarth PoW collection. A butterfly genus, Howarthia, is named in his honor.
