Margaret Joan Holmes (née Reid) was an Australian peace activist born on January 24, 1909. She was notably active during the Vietnam War as a member of the Anglican Peace Fellowship. In 1960, she founded the New South Wales branch of the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom. She was recognized for her contributions to the community by being awarded the Order of Australia in 2001. Holmes dedicated her life to advocating for peace and social justice until her passing on September 10, 2009.
