Martin Persch (February 15, 1948 – December 25, 2013) was a German Catholic theologian and historian. He led the Diocese Archive of Trier from 1987 until 2013. Studying Catholic theology, he trained in ecclesiastical archival services, earning a doctorate in 1987 for work on the Trier diocesan hymnbook. Under his leadership, the archive was modernized and expanded. Committed to preserving parish archives amid declining priest numbers and parish mergers, he published extensively, contributing over 600 titles mainly focused on the history of the (Arch)diocese of Trier.
