Mehmet Seyfettin Özege was a Turkish book collector and bibliographer born on February 7, 1901, in Istanbul. He studied law and worked in banks until 1950. A polyglot, he spoke Turkish, Arabic, Persian, and French. His book collection, significantly enhanced by acquisitions from bibliographer Nurullah Pertevoğlu, included approximately 50,000 volumes donated to Atatürk University in 1961. Özege published a five-volume bibliography cataloging Turkish works printed in Arabic script from 1728 to 1928 from 1971 to 1979. He passed away on April 27, 1981, and is buried in Kozlu Cemetery, Istanbul.
