Hryhoriy Panasovych Shevchenko is a Ukrainian researcher of Antarctica, born on February 15, 1948, in the village of Lyutensky Budyshcha, Poltava Oblast. Since 1971, he resided in Leningrad and participated in the 24th Antarctic expedition (1978-1980) and the 29th Antarctic expedition (1984-1985). During his first visit to Antarctica, he worked as a builder at Novolazarevskaya Station. Currently, he is retired and lives in his hometown.
