Ustad Shah Abdul Karim (February 15, 1916 - September 12, 2009) was a legendary Bangladeshi musician, composer, lyricist, and music teacher. He elevated Baul music to unique heights and composed over five hundred songs throughout his career. Known as the Baul Emperor in Bengali music, he received the Ekushey Padak award from the Government of Bangladesh in 2001 for his outstanding contributions to Bengali music.
