Štěpán Škorpil is a Czech sports journalist, television commentator, and presenter born on April 13, 1945, in Prague. He excelled in athletics as a junior decathlon champion and also played competitive basketball. After studying at Charles University's Faculty of Physical Education and Sport, he worked as a sports commentator at Czechoslovak Television from 1973. He was forced to leave in 1990 due to political reasons. Since 1998, he has been a commentator for Eurosport, focusing on athletics, Nordic combined, swimming, and figure skating, while also promoting the Olympics in Prague.
