He worked as a teacher and methodologist at the Tallinn Maritime School and later at the Tallinn Maritime College. Sirk authored the textbook 'Insenerigraafika I. Joonestustehnika, tasapinnalised konstruktsioonid ja kujutav geomeetria', published in 1992 by the Estonian Maritime Education Centre. He is buried at the Rahumäe cemetery.
